Through a series of interviews and investigations of the history of the school as a building type and childhood in the city, James attempted to resolve an alternative and integrative solution to the current proposal to build a 130,000 sf charter school on the grounds of the NYCHA owned St. Nicholas Houses.

This research based studio took place at the City College of New York, under the supervision of Elisabeth Terragni.
